About Rambl
Rambl started as a straightforward UK hiking website: walk guides, gear advice, the occasional argument with a stile. It still is that, mostly. It’s just grown into something a bit wider too: a home for the stories, history and folklore hiding in the same landscapes, not just the routes up them.
I’m the person behind it and most of what’s on here I’ve walked myself. The rest is properly researched, not scraped together from someone else’s blog post.

Why This Exists
England’s countryside is full of places that are quietly remarkable, and stories that have mostly been forgotten or flattened onto a museum plaque somewhere. Rambl exists to actually walk those places and tell those stories properly, with enough wit that it doesn’t read like a leaflet.
There’s no team here and no office, just one person who’d rather be up a fell than at a desk, doing this in the evenings and at weekends until, hopefully, it isn’t just evenings and weekends anymore.
